Milwaukee Pets Alive is an all-volunteer, No Kill, 501c3 non-profit organization that focuses on saving those animals that have been passed over by, or would not be accepted into, other rescues and shelters and would have no other option for life except for through our organization. These animals may be shy, scared, under-socialized, injured, aged, differently-abled, or need extra medical resources – all deserve the chance to be loved and cherished. Their lives are important. We are all about Milwaukee, building community and relationships, and all that is unique and one-of-a-kind (as represented by the special animals we rescue!). The actual event is free and open to the public, and will be held on Small Business Saturday, November 27th, 2021 at the Milwaukee Ale House. We are in need of lots of donated, handmade items for the sale! We held TWO Crafty Christmas fundraisers last year and they were such a huge success, that we sold out of almost all the donated handmade items we had, so we need to re-stock in a big way! We are looking for items that fit into the following 3 categories: 1.) Holiday Crafts – Craft items that one would use to decorate their home or place of business that are of a Christmas, holiday, or winter theme. Including, but not limited to: ornaments, decorations, art, center pieces, wrapping embellishments, cards, etc. Also, anything that is cat or dog-themed will sell out as soon as we open so if you have an idea to make something that has a cat or dog on it, it will be very popular! 2.) Wreaths – A signature holiday decoration for every home and place of business, a wreath is a must! We are looking for donations of HANDMADE wreaths that are fall (think leaves, harvest, pumpkins, plaids), winter (think snowflakes, snowmen, etc.) or of holiday and celebration themes during those seasons – Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas (of course), New Years, and Valentine’s Day. We welcome donations of wreaths of all sizes – oversized, “standard”, or small. To help you decide what size wreath you may want to make, for a standard, 36” wide, front door, a wreath that is 28” – 30” in diameter will add dramatic impact, whereas a wreath 20” – 24” creates a classic understated look. For oversized doors, a wreath 30” – 36” in diameter will carry the appropriate scale in relation to the size of the door. Don’t forget small wreaths! A small wreath can bring charm to your workspace, or a cluster of small wreaths can create big impact on a wall inside the home! We are also including door hangers of any shape and size! Think vertical (multiple wreaths connected together or other items attached together into a beautiful door hanging), embroidery hoops (which are so in style right now), decorated frames, wood signs, etc. 3.) Gift Items – Gift items DO NOT need to be Christmas, holiday, or winter themed. The sky is the limit and let your imagination inspire you to create! Think accessories, jewelry, clothing, scarves, knit and crochet headbands, hats, blankets, art, coasters, trinkets, items for pets, etc., etc.!!! *A reminder that once again, anything that is cat or dog themed – or even made for cats or dogs – are extremely popular among our shoppers and are sure to sell out immediately! As a craft sale or “fair” all donated items should be HANDMADE (not manufactured or store-bought, though components used to make many of the completed items obviously will be) YOU CAN DONATE YOUR COMPLETED CRAFT OR GIFT ITEMS AT ANY TIME BETWEEN NOW AND SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 21st, 2021 (for inclusion in the wreath contest and pre-sale, wreaths need to be dropped off by Saturday, November 13th with your name and email attached somewhere on the wreath) to our Crafty Christmas drop off location bin, centrally located at Bark N’ Scratch Outpost, 5835 W. Bluemound Rd., Milwaukee (Bluemound and Hawley Rd.), Monday – Friday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Saturdays, 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Sundays 11 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. 100% of the sale of each donated item will benefit Milwaukee Pets Alive to help our very special rescued animals! Any donated items not sold at this year’s sale will be held for sale at next year’s sale.
